We was asked to take all the footage they had and create a specifically stylised TV length opener for their next show which would be aired on Sky Sports. They wanted a a modern fighter theme so we went for a scientific edge with hints of science fiction.

We were asked to put a promo together for their latest event and that the theme was Comic books. Using that as a starting point we really developed some great ideas and so this was quite an easy promo to make. With a intense amount of after effects we managed to create some nice transitions from the comic book world to the stars of MMA.

This promo was the first time we was asked to go and shoot some footage specifically for the event advertisment. This was an excellent chance to show our filmmaking skills in a promotional manner and with its halloween theme we went straight for shadows and haze. Shooting at the Leeds cage we had the pleasure of using silhouettes and light rays to enhance the spooky atmosphere required and with a few finishing digital touches we had our halloween theme promo.

The Bushido Challenge is an MMA competition based in the UK and has been running since 2009. The competition organizers say “in the spirit of the samurai from Japan, BUSHIDO CHALLENGE brings you the “way of the warrior” with its mixed martial arts events.”. The competition is held in a 24 ft steel cage.

We was brought in to photograph/film the weigh ins, interviews (which we edited overnight) and the big event the following day. We provided the camera team and all the photography for the event and put together a special promo for an amazing finishing move that took place in one of the bouts.

You’ve probably already seen Atkinson’s horses in action without even knowing it. They regularly perform on prime-time television and in blockbuster films. Recent credits include The King’s Speech, Russell Crowe’s Robin Hood and Steven Spielberg’s War Horse.

Atkinson Action Horses is a professional group of stunt riders and trainers performing throughout the UK and around the world. I met one of the talented stunt riders on the set of Hail Of Bullets and we enjoyed the collaboration enough for him to bring me on as Videographer and Editor for one of the live events that took place at the Royal Armouries. We did a combination of live event filming and some pre planned cutaways to allow audiences to get in closer on the action. We released the promo below and the client received a full edited video of the whole event.

Budding fashion designers at Kirklees College had their work modelled at the Owt Couture fashion show during 2010′s Create event at the Wheelwright centre in Dewsbury. My job with was to capture the event and create a elegant promo with titles using their photography and my motion graphic skills. We shot the video documentary style backstage as they prepared their costumes and makeup but then changed to a more conventional style of filming with some added dutch tilt to mix it up as they walked down the runway. The promo was shot entirely on Canon 7D with a combination of lenses.

Louise Distras asked me to take part in a tried and tested Punk tradition of shooting a music video against a white backdrop and keeping it simple and focused on the artist. We had some fun with digital zooms, shakes and animated text inspired by the work of the famous collage artist Barbara Kruger.

Joby Hardwick is a very talented musician that I’ve known for years now and he has never wanted or needed a music video. The main reason is because of his acoustic background and the love of live performances, bringing a more personal, less than perfect vibe to his work. But eventually we decided to meet in the middle and shoot a quiet live performance in our local park but just for an hour or two so that we could film the performance and grab some stylistic cutaways.

The song performed is ‘Fyfield Wolves’ and his performance in the snow covered woodland was a perfect backdrop and mood setter.

Joby Hardwick was so pleased with the results that we have agreed to recreate the simplistic nature of filming his videos monthly so that he can share all his music with the internet world.

The Syndicates are a 5 piece band that have been gathering a staggering momentum for the last five years. The band members are all aged 18 and over, including a frontman who plays rhythm guitar and vocals, a lead vocalist, lead guitar, drums and bass guitarist.
They are the winners of the 2010 yorkshire scooter alliance battle of the bands and have played alongside lisa scott lee. They play in a number of locations ranging from josephs well (Leeds) to the picturedrome (Huddersfield). From Darlington to York. They recently made it to the semi finals In Live and Unsigned and played at the O2 arena in front of thousands.

The video was shot and edited in a mere few hours of the band asking me to create it. The band just wanted something to show for their new song and to show it fast. I grabbed a couple of lights, haze machine, my DSLR and headed with them into my storage room and we shot it there and then!

A story based rap video taking place in a expensive night club, mansion and on the road with a Lamborghini diablo. We had to fill the night club ourselves so we rounded up around fifty extras to dance the night away and to top it all off we had girls from the Playboy Mansion be the artists dance partners.
